Hyojin Han is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.  Hyojin brings a rich and diverse level of professional training to her role as a PMHNP at Pondworks.  Her college experience started with a degree in English from Yale University.  She continued her pursuit of the written word and completed a PhD in Ethnic and Third World Literature at the University of Texas, Austin.  These demonstrated academic abilities have been balanced by her real world experiences in positions like community mediator for Los Angeles county.  In her role as a mediator, she enjoyed getting to the root of problems for people in conflict, and helping them to establish productive dialogues  Experiences like these are part of what has led Hyojin to pursue a career in mental health care.  She firmly believes in a biopsychosocial approach that combines psychotherapy and medication management.

Hyojin is a world traveler as well.  She was born in South Korea and has spent time in Thailand as well as many areas within the United States.  These experiences combined with her professional background provide her with a deep level of empathy and ability to form treatment relationships with her patients.

In her free time Hyojin enjoys time with family and friends.  She strives to maintain a healthy work-life balance for herself and hopes to lead by example for her patients in that arena.
