Ivan Srdanovic is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who brings a diverse and unique background to Pondworks. He was born in former Yugoslavia, now currently Montenegro.  Having grown up in the United States to immigrant parents, Ivan understands the importance and impact of culture, customs, and assimilation into a new country on one’s mental health.

Before being involved in psychiatry, Ivan worked as a residential counselor at the Young Adult Institute in New York City, where he provided individual and group therapy for individuals with developmental disabilities. He also worked as a community trainer in Queens, New York, where he had the opportunity to provide prevocational training for individuals with developmental disabilities in the community, aiding them in building towards an independent lifestyle.

Austin Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Ivan obtained his PMHNP degree and training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  His nursing background includes inpatient psychiatry, specializing in general psychiatry; addiction and detox; and acute thought disorders.

He is new to Austin, TX, and has been exploring what the city and the wonderful state of Texas have to offer. In his free time he enjoys swimming, kayaking, hiking, playing guitar and photography.
