Tracy Figlan, APRN, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Tracy Figlan’s nursing background includes work with diverse populations in the areas of trauma, hospice, chemical dependency, and psychiatric nursing. Tracy believes each client is unique and best understood in the context of their experiences.
Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Approach
One size does not fit all, therefore her approach is client-specific and may include medication, psychotherapy or both, to improve insight and assist in achieving healthy goals. Her training includes supportive, solution-focused therapy (SFT), interpersonal, cognitive based, and brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. By actively listening with a nonjudgmental attitude, Tracy strives to create a healing presence of acceptance, patience, and trust.
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Prior to joining Pondworks Psychiatry in May 2015, Tracy trained under Dr. Kim’s supervision as a graduate student in the Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at The University of Texas at Austin, the leading Austin mental health program. She was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and the United States Air Force Reserve, and was graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University, School of Nursing. Tracy is a former soccer player, and she enjoys volunteering locally with Mobile Loaves and Fishes and Camp Brave Heart.
